3 Reasons to Invest in a Professional Photography Session

As a family photographer, I understand how fast-paced life can be when you're juggling endless responsibilities while trying enjoy every moment with your family. In this age of smartphones and social media, you might wonder if booking a professional family photography session is necessary. Well, let me assure you—it's absolutely worth it!

Here are three reasons why investing in a photography session is a decision you won't regret.

  1. Freeze time

We all know how quickly children grow up. One moment, they're tiny bundles of joy in your arms, and the next, they're running off to school. Time flies and moments fade into distant memories. By hiring a family photographer, you can freeze those fleeting moments and capture your family's unique dynamics, personalities, and love. And this is a time for you, MOM, to have some gorgeous photographs of you WITH your children and partner. My husband means well - he really does - but most iPhone photos that he snaps of me with my daughters are medium at best. And relying on other people to take a family photo yields a 50/50 chance (or worse) that you'll get one that you actually like. When you book a family photography session, these photographs become priceless treasures that you can revisit in the years to come, taking you back to those magical moments that define your family's journey - the WHOLE family.

2. Upgrade your snapshots

While smartphone cameras have come a long way, there's nothing quite like the expertise and artistry of a professional photographer. Professional photographers have the knowledge, experience, and top-notch equipment to capture stunning images that truly reflect the essence of your family. They have an eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling, ensuring that each photograph becomes a work of art. From capturing tender moments between siblings to the infectious smiles on your little one's face, professional photography will elevate your memories from snapshots to stunning visual narratives.

3. Create art for your home

Professional photography also makes for beautiful artwork that you can display around your home. You can turn them into gorgeous framed prints, canvases, or (my personal favorite) photo albums that you can proudly display in your home. Did you know that psychologists have studied the impact that displaying family photographs have around the home? It turns out, children who see themselves and their loved one in photographs around the home develop stronger confidence levels and higher self-esteem. Children need visual reminders (aka photographs) that they are part of a family unit, so that they can see how they fit into their family and that they are an important part of it. It is also a great way to create your family’s legacy, one that you can pass down from generation to generation.

I could go on and on about the benefits of hiring a professional photographer to document your family, but let me leave you with this last thought. No matter what age your children are, how busy your life is or whatever flaws you think you might have - investing in professional photography is something you will never regret. When your family grows and changes you’ll always have a visual reminder of what it once was and everything that you’ve been through. As a mother, you deserve to have your relationship with your children beautifully documented. When you book a photography session, make sure you choose someone that you vibe with and you get along with. The more relaxed you are at your session the more fun it will be. The more fun it is the more gorgeous your photos will turn out.
